Jakarta, 22 May 2025 – Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (Unsurya) and Terra Agri, the agricultural business services arm of Terra Drone, proudly announce a strategic partnership to foster a new generation of highly skilled drone engineers and versatile professionals. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), legally formalized between Terra Drone Indonesia and Unsurya, is executed through Terra Agri and was ceremonially signed by Umaidi Suhari, Human Resource and Business Partner (HRBP) of Terra Agri, representing Terra Drone Indonesia, on 17 April, 2025, alongside Marsda TNI (Purn) Dr. Sungkono, SE, M.Si, Chancellor of Unsurya.
Inspired by the success of an Unsurya Aviation Engineering alumnus now working as a Field Drone Engineer at Terra Agri in Kalimantan, Terra Agri engaged Unsurya to partner and develop Indonesia’s drone talent. Unsurya’s Aviation, Industrial, Electrical, and Aeronautical Engineering programs closely match the skills needed for Terra Agri’s field engineering positions. The university also offers opportunities in Law, Management, and Accounting, providing a diverse talent pool for both technical and operational functions.
The MoU establishes a forward-thinking framework, aligning programs with Unsurya’s academic calendar to develop skilled drone technology professionals. Key initiatives include internships and employment opportunities for students who complete Terra Agri’s drone certification program, creating clear career pathways in drone engineering. Unsurya’s campus, with its expansive grounds near Halim Airport, serves as a hub for hands-on drone testing and training, enabling students to tackle real-world challenges in agriculture and aviation.
Terra Drone Indonesia’s Terra Academy, an established program, offers a Drone Pilot Certification program open to the public, including university students seeking industry-recognized credentials. Through a partnership with Unsurya, Terra Agri collaborates with Terra Academy to provide drone demonstration and training programs, with three scholarships awarded to exceptional Unsurya students for these certifications. The collaboration also promotes joint research in sustainable drone solutions and advanced aviation systems, positioning Indonesia as a leader in agricultural innovation.
